Rock Carvings on the North York Moors

Allan Tofts - Goathland
A cluster of carvings situated on a hill side over looking the Murk Esk river valley. In the same area there are a number of large cairns and the remains of linear earthworks - consisting of low earth banks incorporating boulders. A cairn field of around seventy smaller cairns has also been reported and it is in this area that the cup and ring carved rocks are located.
On recent visits to Allan Tofts the three carvings already on record were located and another seven unrecorded carved stones were also noted.
