A 'lost' well - water source may still exist?
St Osyth's - a farm just to north of Richmond.
Old OS map marks a well by woodland just to north of Farm.
Noted by Whitaker Vol i p 102 & Clarkson
quoted in YHW&SS p33
"It was surrounded by an open wall and a neat small covered
building was erected near it".
The holy wells water were considered beneficial when drunk, and
baptism's took place at the well. plus there was a bath for immersion.
