Yorkshire Holy Wells |
|
||
This Holy well may have had a long
history as it is located next the lost medieval village of Yarnwick, where
only the site of the moated hall survives. However the present well house
is of a more recent 'industrial' red brick construction, with a arched
brick roof and a concrete covering. The well is totally dry and all that
remains inside are the rusting remnants of a pump/siphoning system, which
probably supplied the hall nearby. |
Access - The well house is by a public footpath. Condition - Very poor, a dry well with a derelict well house. |
